Petition to Oppose the Rezoning of 2607, 2611, 2615, and 2619 Wade Ave

Petition to Oppose the Rezoning of 2607, 2611, 2615, and 2619 Wade Ave
Why this petition matters
We, the undersigneds, are neighbors of 2607, 2611, 2615, and 2619 Wade Avenue (zoning case number Z-35-20) (the “Property”), which Envision Homes is attempting to rezone from R-4 and R-6 to RX-3-CU to allow it to build townhomes on the property and to allow it to double the density of units allowed on the Property. We are strongly opposed to this rezoning request, especially because Envision Homes is attempting to double the permitted density from six units per acre to twelve units. A density of 12 units per acre would allow approximately 24 townhomes on the roughly two acre Property. This increase in density is inconsistent with the City’s Comprehensive Plan and such an increase in density would negatively affect our single family residential neighborhood in a number of ways. No adjacent property or property in the immediate vicinity of the Property provides for density greater than six units per acre. Therefore, we believe the rezoning request should be denied. Most of us attended the neighborhood meetings for this rezoning and Envision Homes is refusing to address our concerns we raised in the neighborhood meetings. Therefore, by signing this petition and presenting it to the City Council, we are each voicing our strong opposition to the request to rezone this property to RX-3-CU and request that you reject the request to rezone the Property to RX-3-CU.
