Being the aborigine indigenous group of people, the KALITA "Janagosthi" (Ethnic group) deserves the Constitutional recognition and protection as per "Declaration on the Rights of the Indigenous people" adopted by the UN General Assembly (Resolution no. 37/51, 13th Sept. 2007).

We humbly request all the concerned authorities, considering all the relevant rules & regulations of the Constitution of India, to take necessary steps to include the KALITA "Janagosthi" (Ethnic Group) in the list of "Scheduled Tribe" and also include in the "Sixth Schedule" of the Constitution of India.
