In Ontario, there are 2.6 million individuals living with a disability, and of those people, 395,000 of them are recipients of the Ontario Disability Support Program. Currently, the maximum ODSP payment is $1169.00 monthly, which is less than half of the income one would make working full-time for minimum wage. With the rising cost of groceries, housing, and other basic necessities, this income is not nearly enough to live off of, and many individuals with disabilities will be receiving ODSP for the rest of their lives. We need to work towards providing our community's most vulnerable individuals with a living wage, and we want the Ontario Government to hear our pleas.
