Hi there. My name is Kirstin Murray. I am a small business owner. A service provider. I feel the GST threshold needs to be raised for small businesses in NZ. I feel the current threshold is crippling/stifling small business service providers in NZ.

The current threshold has been in place for 15 years. I have been in business for 23 years. When I first started out the threshold was $30,000 then it was raised to $40,000. So it can be done! In the current financial climate, with the high living cost, it would help immensely alot of small businesses, if the GST threshold was raised. This in turn will help that businesses clients & customers. I feel the threshold needs to be raised to $75,000. In Australia it is $75,000. 

If a business is below the threshold and wants to be registered, they still can register voluntarily. So this does not discriminate those businesses that have high expenses.

I  am raising a petition with the NZ parliament to please raise the gst threshold to $75,000.
