Raise the funding for Gainesville's Regional Transportation System

Raise the funding for Gainesville's Regional Transportation System
Why this petition matters

Ridership for RTS has decreased from a peak of 10,800,000 yearly passengers to 5,500,000 yearly between 2013 and 2017, and this number is only falling further during the pandemic according to an article done by PBS.
About 89,000 Alachua County residents are considered to be transportation disadvantaged (TD), with the number projected to rise to 91,000 by 2025 (Gainesville Mobility RTS Transit Development Plan). This means there’s a lot of people riding buses every single day.
Bus stops around Gainesville are not maintained well for the most part, and buses themselves are unreliable most of the time.
An increase in funds for the Regional Transportation System in Gainesville means cleaner, safer bus stops and improved frequency of buses on the road.
Sign this petition and begin to write to legislators, city officials, and the federal transit administration in order to approve larger grants for Gainesville's public transportation system!
