I don't want to live in a country full of stupid people, which is what we're getting when their teachers are not getting paid what they deserve.

I am studying to be an elementary teacher, and I feel that teachers do not receive enough pay for all they give back to the future of this world, CHILDREN. Teachers spend so much time and effort, teaching, grading, and dealing with children's different behaviors, it is unfair that they too, studied at a University, and dedicated themselves and their jobs to children and education , when they could have easily, picked a less requirement job. They should be making NO LESS THAN $65,000 ANNUALLY, MINNIMUM. The pay they receive is a shit hole. They can barely live off what they are making, to barely survive and meet their needs. They do not make enough, to buy a house, much less enjoy the money they make. This has gone on for too long! Soon, there won't be anymore people wanting to become a teacher, and children will have no one to teach them and educate them, all because of the misery amount that is being earned yearly by teachers!! They definitely need more credit, I love children, but I must also think about the benefits, the pros and cons this field offers...

Teachers liberate minds, and what outranks the nurturing of developing minds? Not many things.
