Raise awareness of Human Trafficking #1

The Issue

This is the first of a series of notifications about up-coming events to raise the awareness of Human Trafficking around the world. If the event is not in your area and therefore you can't attend then please make as many other folk aware of it as possible.....    many thanks  John Stack

A coalition of anti-human trafficking organizations including Polaris, One Ripple, YANA, and MD HTTF is planning an anti-human trafficking rally in Baltimore on October 24, 2009. They will have speakers, NGO information booths and live entertainment. They are looking to have about 150 people there, to really bring awareness of Human trafficking to this community.

The event will be at 901 Hollins St. Baltimore MD from 3:00-5:00pm.

Here are somethings you can do:

-Volunteer (contact Sergio via email below, any level of help is welcome)
-Mark your calendars & register to come to the event (http://mdsms.eventbrite.com/)
-Share MD SMS with a friend (http://twitter.com/mdsms or http://maryland.stopmodernslavery.org)
-Recommend others who might be interested (if you know of any organizations who might want to join this, let Sergio know).

I have travelled in 44 countries from the high mountains of Peru, the Karakoram highway and the Hindu Kush, to the deserts of Australia, Africa and China. From diving in the Atlantic, Indian, Mediterranean and Pacific Oceans to ascending previously unclimbed peaks high up within the Arctic circle of Northern Greenland and canoeing Canadian rivers in the wild north of the Yukon. I am always searching for new interests and new ideas. My life mantra is now: Live every day as if you will die tomorrow, Learn every day as if you will live forever. When not travelling I live in Edinburgh, Scotland, with my wife Alison; I have two children. I am passionately against human trafficking and slavery.
