Judith Costa started this petition to City of Lodi Planning Commision City of Lodi Planning Commision members

City of Lodi Planning Commission is proposing an expansion of our neighborhood (150 new homes) to the northwest of Orchard Lane community. Main points that need addressing are:

1. What is the impact to Orchard Lane community for the proposed opening of Kordia Ln in order for easy access to freeway via Lebaron and Merton Way for new development of 150 homes? This means 150+ new cars added to existing traffic through our neighborhood.

2. What is the impact of quality/size/price/construction noise/timely construction with proposed expansion of 150 new homes given the economic challenges with Covid 19?

3. What is the impact of viable educational access for our families in OL and this new proposed development?

We want to keep our Orchard Lane community safe and family-friendly. In the final Environmental Impact report it stated that the opening of Kordia Ave will provide for traffic through to LeBaron Blvd to provide connection to Reynolds Ranch Blvd making our streets unsafe for our families. Those streets on Merton Way will most likely be affected too. This traffic alone will change the landscape of our quiet small-town flavor of OL community.

The plan to develop a 'new community' is not up to the standard of our Orchard Lane neighborhood. As presented in the environmental report, this new community is "designed to create a cohesive palette." We believe that because most of the existing homes along Stockton St will be staying, that this will create an uncoordinated look that will detract buyers.

The new proposed development will increase the currently impacted school district. Live Oak Elementary and neighboring school Lois Borchardt have seen a drastic increase in headcount and have overflowed students to school’s outside of our area. The impacts we see are siblings being separated, increased pupil to teacher ratio, increased workload on our teachers, limited transportation and education resources.

Please consider these points and sign this petition if you want the planning commission to make a more scrutinized decision considering our wants and needs for a safer, easier education access and more cohesive home expansion plan for our great City of Lodi.

The next meeting for the Planning commission is set for Aug 12th at 7PM on FB so we need this signed by as many Lodi residents as possible and emailed by Aug 11th.
