Railway Platforms are meant for travelers 'Only' !

Overcrowding of railway platforms is a measure problem for travelers commonly in Metro cities and busy junctions. The nuisance can worsen till the extent that people fall off the platform.
Missing, kidnapping and theft are other threats increased due undesired crowd. It becomes difficult for disabled and older people to board the train.
It is our observation that crowd on platforms is not only due to travelers but majorly due to non-traveling people coming to see off and pick up.
We are curious to know what could be the possibilities to cater the situation. People can not be barred from entering the station; but they could be filtered right at the platform entrances.
The existing infrastructure of stations supports the concept as there are well defined entry and exit points. My suggestion is to use it as controlled entries for travelers only. There should be provision of special permission to accompany disabled or older travelers till their seats.
What we are suggesting here, does not demand great investments or budgets; but a shift in paradigm.
Limiting the non-travelers would do_
1. Platforms would be comfortable, cleaner and safer.
2. Reduce the parking requirements and traffic nuisance to larger extent.
3. Easy management for rail authority.
4. Achieving the goals of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.
As a concerned traveler, I would like to share this petition with you. Kindly take into consideration.
