When asked about ambition in life, he would gladly announce his plan of becoming a part of the Indian Army and neutralize forces that work against the country. And this he definitely did, without caring if it was day or night, a month or a year, the summer or the winter!!!
On February 21, 2016 Capt Tushar Mahajan of the elite 9 Para, SF attained martyrdom while fighting terrorists in Pampore of Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Our son was just 26.
The extraordinary valour and courage demonstrated by our young son is inspirational. Keeping that in mind, it is also important to accept the fact that there is nothing more powerful than time.
This is our sincere plead to Shri. Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister of Railways, to name the Railway Station of Udhampur after this brave heart. We are aware that it wouldn’t bring back our son but it will help in keeping his story alive as a constant reminder for people across the length and breadth of India who visit this town in Jammu and Kashmir of how selflessly a young man laid down his life for them, the motherland. And that he didn’t give it a second thought but fought for the pride of his nation by taking several bullets so bravely.
Kindly join us in advocating this and honour Tushar’s supreme sacrifice. Let us make an effort to ensure that he doesn’t go down unnoticed in the annals of history. His story deserves to be told as he is a motivation for not only the present generation but for endless generations to follow who can derive inspiration from his sacrifice. And that our children are nurtured with the supreme fact that INDIA is our pride.
Proud parents of Capt Tushar Mahajan
