Indore is the financial capital of M.P and it is one of the fastest growing cities. MP has been deprived from railway connectivity its seems. Being one of the major industrial hubs and having a large population, it lacks connectivity by main railway routes. There are two sections which are pending from a long time. One is Indore Dahod project which connects Indore and 2 tribal districts of Dhar and Jhabua to the Delhi Mumbai corridor at Dahod. This will save kilometers for railway in sending trains from Indore to Gujrat, Rajasthan & Mahrashtra. Second route is Indore Khandwa. Indore Khandwa is one of the oldest routes in India and now it is left with no attention. If we convert that into broad gauge, Indore will be directly connected with Manmad and down south. This can ease up the burden on Itarsi Junction. This line was laid by Holkar and from then no significant work has been done. People from Indore travel alot and they have to use unsafe and costly bus transportation. During festival it's dfficult to go back home because of soaring prices.
