Indian Railways should compensate the passengers for delayed train journeys.

Presently, when the public is being made to pay huge amount of money by the Indian Railways on the name of miscellaneous charges such as Tatkal, Premium Tatkal, dynamic fare etc. for the same kind of service, I strongly feel that the Railways should be responsible enough and it must compensate to the passengers for delayed trains, improper services on-board and at the railway stations if the reason of lapse falls under the purview of the Railways.

For other lapses whose reasons which are beyond Railways control, I don't demand any compensation.

Today, I am on board the North East Express from Guwahati to Anand Vihar Terminal (Delhi) and the train has got delayed by about 15 hours after Katihar. The reason as told by the TTE, is an unprecedented crack found on the track. The question arises here that why the track was not inspected and made alright well within time by the Railway staff. This happens time and again. Sometimes, the engines breaks down on the way. At times, some of the trains get derailed and so on.

Shouldn't the Railways be held responsible for such negligence? Please support me by signing this petition and make realise that Indians cannot be taken for ride anymore.
