Lifeline of Mumbai Local Trains is ruining our lives

Sir, Lakhs of people travel everyday by Local trains of Mumbai, the so called Financial Hub of the country. 85% of the population travel by trains for their jobs and businesses. As a Mumbaikar, I am highly disappointed with the functionality of these trains. These trains normally run 30 mins late from scheduled time. Its not occasional, its a everyday thing from last 6 - 8 months. We are answerable in office, we waste our valuable time which could have been spent effectively in offices or with our loved ones. We travel like animals in trains, there is no facility provided inspite of charging so much. Sometimes fans don't work, sometimes the seats are torn off. Also, with growing population, there are no new trains started in Central railways.

So many people face problems about trains, their timings, the crowd. So many commuters have lost their lives due to super crowded trains. But nothing is done to improve the service or start new trains.  So many commuters reach their office late and lose their half a day's salary. Who is responsible for their loss?

Mumbai trains kill more lives than terrorists. So many accidental deaths happen because trains are super crowded, but our Government is just mum on such issues. They are ok with people losing their lives in such a manner.

It almost takes 1 hour 45 mins to reach from Kalyan to CST instead of just 1 hour 10 mins. Who is answerable to our bosses, to our kids who wait for us the whole long day. Its a shame and not a lifeline anymore.

We need to work on the functionality of trains especially their timings. Also, I would request you to start new trains. Its high time now that there is some change or else people will start shifting to better places where there are no local trains or probably to other countries where there are better conditions and human life is respected, where people are treated as humans and not animals.
