I want to be able to photograph the night sky without having to drive 75 miles to Union Pier, Michigan.

I'm extremely concerned about health and also the inevitable damage to migratory birds (which are already threatened). I also want Chicago to be a progressive city, an example for other American cities on a smart lighting system.

I'm signing because while I believe LEDs to be a superior choice to what is currently used, this investment should be made intelligently and should not create new problems in the face of those it aims to solve.

I understand the broader environmental impact of too much and the wrong kind of artificial lighting, and believe that more care is needed.

Chicago is attractive to residents and tourists alike. Making it resemble a laundromat for many years to come will be soul-crushing and detrimental to the health of those living in the blinding blue glare.

This is extremely important. I have PTSD and blue-rich light aggravates my condition.
