A skatepark is needed so that kids have a safe place to skate instead of skating on the sidewalks where they bother pedestrians, and on streets where they can get injured by vehicles. As a growing sport favored by the millions around the world, skating, longboarding, skateboarding, rollerblading and BMX riding is a healthy form of exercise and entertainment that gets kids outside playing once more instead of sitting in front of computer and video games.  Skating is also known to bring communities together and helps in building relationships.
