Re-opening of Alan Wilke Bridge on Stanmore Road

The Alan Wilkie bridge on Stanmore Road, Wolfdene has been closed since the 30th March 2017 due to apparent flood damage.
I petition that action be taken immediately to have repairs commence on the bridge so that it may be re-opened to traffic in the near future. Residents of Tamborine, Cedar Creek, Wolfdene etc are forced to drive through Beenleigh to access suburbs namely Yatala, Ormeau and Pimpama and this road closure is adding at least 20-30 minutes to our commute time each way. The traffic in the mornings and afternoons is horrendous and not only is it costing more for fuel but also adding excessive kilometres to our vehicles.
If the required repairs are in fact as extensive and lengthy as you say, I propose a temporary solution be sought such as the possibility of the road being repaired and sealed to the 'old bridge' so that cars can at least access it whilst repairs are underway. Another alternative is the sealing of the road between Shaws Pocket Road, Cedar Creek and Upper Ormeau Road, Kingsholme which has been proposed for the last decade or so.
We the local residents feel that we have been left in the dark with regard to this matter, with no regular updates or progress made for the past 5 weeks.
We would like you to consider our request as a matter or urgency.
