QLD State Government to prioritise duplication of Cleveland-Redland Bay Road

Dear Residents

Cleveland-Redland Bay Road is the major State-Controlled Road servicing the southern suburbs of the Redlands. Carrying in excess of 40,000 vehicles a year (Annual Average Daily Traffic), Cleveland-Redland Bay Road is identified as one of the most congested roads on the Redlands Coast, resulting in traffic snarls and accidents. The duplication of this busy State Government Road would provide improved safety, economic and social benefits for the community.

The State Government is currently undertaking a study into roads around Victoria Point, including Cleveland-Redland Bay Road. Although this study was originally to investigate the Victoria Point By-pass, Member for Redlands Kim Richards has agreed to include Cleveland-Redland Bay Road and surrounding roads in the study. Unfortunately Cleveland-Redland Bay Road is excluded from the State Government survey designed to seek feedback on the study.  As such this petition will help ensure Ms Richards and the State Government receives feedback from residents regarding the duplication of Cleveland-Redland Bay Road.

Respectfully Councillor Paul Golle
