Brian Arnold started this petition to Queensland Rugby League

Currently there is a rule in place that if your child makes a representative team as young as under 11's (so your child would be 10) and up to under 18's then they can no longer change clubs until the time that they do not make a representative team or they don't play Rugby League for 12 months.

I have grandchildren that a very good at the sport they love to play and becuase of this they are now punished and unable to move to play with their mates in a different club. I understand the whole loyalty thing but these are kids just wanting to play a fun sport that they love with their mates.

This rule to me doesnt make sense. I'm pretty sure it has been brought in to stop teams from loading up top players and then them beating all other teams and winning the competition.

Firstly, there is no points system until under 13's, so who cares who is in your team at that age.

Secondly, where my grandchildren live, in one particular age group, there is a club who currently has quite a few representative players currently in that team. This rule that is in place is just making them all stay in this team together. Does this not contradict why the rule itself was brought in ?

I hope you see where I'm coming from and you sign this petition so we can take it further. This is something I am extremely passionate and also extremely upset about. I don't think anyone has the right to tell you or your children where they can play and who they can play with.
