Kate Curmi started this petition to Queensland judges

In November 2018, I physically stopped coal trains in North Queensland. I used safe, non-violent direct action to stop trains headed to the Adani owned Abbot Point coal terminal. I did this as an ordinary person to help save the planet from climate change. My trial will be happening in the Bowen magistrate’s court on 16th May.

I will be arguing that I am not guilty because an EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY defence applies. To establish the defence, I have to demonstrate that climate change is an extraordinary emergency and that ordinary people with ordinary power of self control would reasonably act as I did in order to stop Adani. If you feel that you are an ordinary person with ordinary power of self control, and you are also prepared to use safe, non-violent direct action to stop Adani, please sign this petition in support of my use of the extraordinary emergency defence.
