Stop Taxi Grab for Patient Transport Service
This petition had 192 supporters
The Taxi Council of Queensland wants cabbies to take the transport of sick patients away from qualified Ambulance Service Patient Transfer Officers (PTOs). They have called on the Queensland Government to hand the service over to cabbies and give the struggling taxi industry a financial boost at the expense of sick patients.
All PTOs have a level 3 qualification in non-emergency patient transport while some of them are also former paramedics. Cabbies have a taxi driver authorisation.
Tell Queensland Health Minister Lawrence Springborg, who you want to transport you or your sick child, partner or grandparent to and from treatment. And tell him that this vital service is too important to be privatised AT ALL.
