There are too many Australians dying while waiting for Organ Transplantation and the list is only getting longer.  Not everyone who is registered is able to donate due to different circumstances which is why we need to get more people on the registers. This is so important as one day it could be you or a loved one waiting.

 As a double transplant recipient myself who works in the community raising awareness around Organ Donation the most common feedback I get is:

1. I thought it was still on my drivers licence.

2. Why isn't it compulsory.

3. I've been meaning to do it but I keep forgetting.

I would like to see change to the system where you are automatically registered as an Organ and Tissue Donor and you have to opt out if you do not wish to be a Donor.
