FARMERS NEED YOUR HELP 

Many farmers across Queensland and Australia have noticed the increase of feral pigs on their farm damaging their crops and completely ruining them. Farmers are seeking urgent help for the start of the new seasons of crop without the damage from the pests . The feral pigs are costing farmers thousands of dollars to be able to fix all of the damage these feral pigs have done. But despite the growing costs and frustration, a National Feral Pig Action Plan to help farmers tackle the pests is still months away. It costs the farmers time and money to be able to fix their crop or headlands.

The farmers are fed up and need help so their crops are no longer being ruined. Putting fences up could be a possible solution for these farmers but with so much land it can start to be a little pricey for farmers to be able to afford these fences. Without these farmers Australia stops running!

While exact figures are unknown, it is estimated there are 23 million feral pigs in Australia, costing the agricultural industry upwards of $100 million a year. Farmers are saying “it feels like they’ve knocked down 10 tonne of cane each night”
