Introduce Sex Education classes in QLD schools
Education is where change begins. It is time to teach young adults in high school about the necessity of Sex Education in Queensland schools. Not only should they be made aware of the potential implications of sex, but they should also be given a greater knowledge of how to care for themselves, be safe and healthy, and have better relationship understanding and love.
As a high school student, I think that little has been taught about safe sex education in Queensland, and many teenagers, like myself, are still stuck in the same situation. Confused or unsure about consent and what sex genuinely means.
Many teenagers at this point in time are also still learning about who they are and what their bodies are capable of and I believe that teenagers should also be involved in learning and understanding more about different gender sex or same-gender sex.
Body safety (protective behaviors), interpersonal respect, and the dangers of technology at this time of hitting puberty should all be taught in Queensland High School Classes!
We encourage the Australian government and the Queensland Department of Education to take a proactive approach and make Sex Education compulsory in all Queensland High Schools.
I would love for as many people as possible to support this petition - for more Sex Education to be taught for young adults in Queensland High Schools.
Please pass this on to your friends and family. Thank you!
