Kahj Woods is an 18 years old young man that never had a criminal record. He preaches at his church and plays the drums. He was also a part of the MCJROTC program in his High School, a program that develops leaders and helps their community.

Kahj Woods was a young man at the RIGHT place at the wrong time. His situation is similar to many young Black men that were falsely accused of crimes they never committed and kept on the bases of circumstantial evidence. His story reminds me of Kalief Browder.

Authorities are accusing Kahj Woods of intentionally setting a fire that tragically killed two men in December of 2018 in Jamaica, Queens (New York) in his grandmother's apartment building. He has been indicted and charged with murder in the deaths of two men, and additionally charged with Manslaughter and Arson; he faces up to 25 Years to life in prison if convicted.

We believe and know Kahj Woods did not intentionally set a fire. According to his lawyer, the entire case is based on circumstantial evidence, and there is no direct evidence showing proof Kahj Woods intentionally set a fire.

The Judge, Michael Aloise, presiding over Kahj Woods case, has been denying his bail application and we would like to bring Kahj home to his family. Please. We do not want another young Black man to fall victim to this system and would love to bring awareness to his situation.
