Sophie Bee started this petition to Queens College Bio 40 Lab & Lecture Professors

Queens College is a diverse institution which prides itself on a helpful administration and understanding professors. In Bio 40, many of us are enrolled in classes full-time and also working full-time (or part time) and while that may deter others from excelling in their education, we care deeply for our futures which is why instead of accepting GPA suicide we are airing our grievances below:

The homework assignments and "slides" do not reflect exam questions.

Our homework quizzes which consist of 50-90 questions are blocked from view once we submit them, hindering our ability to see what concepts we got wrong and also study

Many of us have been sending emails ranging from personal issues, homework/exam questions to difficulties signing in the first week....and HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RESPONSE

We hope that our professors also wish each and everyone of us to succeed as our GPA is extremely important to us and consider:

1. Fair practices in exams: study guides would be extremely helpful as would exam questions that reflect the actual slide lessons or reading

2. Responsiveness in a timely manner from our professors.

3. If the class average is below a low B, consider a curve or extra credit so that students may salvage their GPA

We are proud to be students at Queens College and also are grateful for the experiences here.  Bio40 is a core class and many students from many majors have sacrificed a lot of money for the tuition and Connect Program during pandemic times ($1400).  There is no reason as to why the department cannot be more understanding and responsive to their students as we are what makes up Queens College.
