Implement an e-waste system for Queen's students on campus!

Currently, Queen's University lacks a proper electronic waste disposal system for students on campus. Our large population of over 24, 000 students amass to a significant daily usage of technology including cellphones, laptops and iClickers. As we are well aware of, electronics don't last forever and are disposed and replaced on a frequent basis. As of now, the only e-waste disposal option for students is to travel to recycling facilities in the city. Unfortunately, the majority of students do not make this effort and end up improperly disposing their e-waste with their garbage. This is a rapidly growing problem in landfills as the toxic chemicals from electronic waste is leeching into our soils and destroying nearby land. This is why we are hoping to make the change and implementing a permanent e-waste disposal container on campus.
