At Queen Mary University of London, tuition fees remain at 9.2k a year for home students, 22.5k for international students and the possibility of this being decreased hasn't been addressed. Thousands of international and home students are being made to pay the full tuition fees, when the quality of teaching has dropped significantly from the previous academic year.

The pandemic has placed a lot of restrictions and has made the situation difficult for the university, however the students are being made to take the burden instead. Some classes are losing up to 4 hours of contact time per module in comparison to the last academic year. The online lectures have also been low quality due to poor internet connections i.e. fuzzy screens, lecturer disconnects, audio is distorted, etc. this commonly goes on for 10-20 minutes during an hour lecture. Many lecturers are also not using tools such as the whiteboard in blackboard collaborate to teach, only using premade PowerPoints is not an effective way of teaching. Furthermore we were promised blended learning, many moved to London to attend the in-person activities at least once a week but ended up moving out to take a fully online course in a different city.

Queen Mary students have not been given the quality of teaching we were promised and in turn, a reduction in tuition fees for this academic year is wanted.
