Stop TeleMedicine & COVID testing prerequisite to physically see family doctor for kids
Parents cannot get access to see a family doctor when their child is sick. A COVID test is required if they have any of the COVID symptoms which are similar symptoms to most viruses or infections that affect children. Furthermore, it can take more than 24 hours to get a result which defeats the purpose of needing to see a doctor immediately when there is a sick child involved. Since doctors are vaccinated and they can wear protective physical equipment, we should return to being able to see these doctors in person in an emergency situation. Stop telemedicine triage and COVID testing prerequisite for booking doctor appointments for children. The number provided by Quebec is not a good solution. Children should be able to see their own family doctor when it is an emergency. Make pediatric in person visits mandatory without a COVID test requirement and without telemedicine triage. My recommendation to keep all children safe is to have appointments set up, parent and child wait in their car and are texted when they can come in to see their doctor. No kids waiting in the doctor waiting room. Everyone is safe and parents can have access to their pediatricians without having to go to the hospital or call a hotline.
