Education is the bedrock of every society. And no society can rise above the level of education of its populace. Quality education is a basic human right. But UNESCO reports show that 258 million children and youth are still out of school with a high number being those in marginalized communities. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused an increase in this number. Few who are in school lack basic learning materials to enhance effective learning. Most public schools are dilapidated and in a coma state. 

For us, as a nation to achieve one of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals to provide quality education for all by 2030, then we must invest heavily into our education system.  This will help bridge the inequity gap and create access for children from low-income communities to attend excellent education to be able to compete favorably with their peers in urban areas.

Now more than ever, children need quality and equitable education to be able to thrive in our transforming technological world.

If we join forces and energy together, we can help children overcome the barriers hindering access to quality education.
