We are trying to Save our Park!! For years Melrosians and the neighboring towns have enjoyed all the festivals put on here. From Easter Egg Hunts, to Fundraisers for the Fire Department, to Saving Melrose Elementary School, to the Melrose Market on Saturdays, to Amazing Christmas Parades. It’s always free to come and always family oriented. Now there’s a handful of bullies (some that don’t even live in Melrose) that want to cancel everything, or make it extremely difficult to host an event. The fee’s that haven’t been enforced, were $100 deposit $100 permit fee are now increased to $500 deposit with a $200 permit fee. That is extremely expensive & impossible for some vendors. A lot of sellers have homemade & handmade items. We are not in this to make money. We are in it to provide a fun, safe place for the kids and families to come enjoy. We are asking for your help. Most of the families that come to these events have financial hardships. Sometimes it’s the only option for a holiday. The smiles from kids making a clothespin reindeer or a plastic beaded bracelet were so heartwarming and special. Memories are being made. This is Our Community Park. We should be able to use it as a community. Please sign this petition to Save Melrose Heritage Park. If the bullies win, say goodbye to any more festivals, because that’s what they want.
