Put Gender-Neutral Bathrooms in Midwood High School

Put Gender-Neutral Bathrooms in Midwood High School
Why this petition matters
In recent years, gender-neutral bathrooms have become a big topic of conversation. More specifically, the lack of them in our offices, workplaces, and schools. LGBTQ+ students, especially transgender and gender non-conforming individuals, and staff deserve to have a place in their work/learning locations where they feel safe and accepted.
Through the research I conducted, it was apparent that the absence of these restrooms in schools are having negative mental and physical effects on students. The feeling of being excluded and unheard that many members of the LGBTQ+ community already experience, is only amplified by the shortage of accessible bathrooms in their school environments. Bladder health has become a prominent health issue due to students feeling unsafe in their school bathrooms. To back up my project, I spoke to psychologists and professors who voiced their support and gave their expertise as a tool for me to further my implementation goals.
The goal of this petition is to bring Midwood High School's administration's awareness to this issue in order to get an all-accessible restroom implemented by the end of this school year. There are already unused bathrooms that could be easily renovated for the comfort and convenience of the student body.
