The problem we are all facing is fossil fuel emissions. Fossil fuels are killing us. They're killing kids, adults, elders, animals, plants and our ecosystem. We are trying to push for the divestment in fossil fuel funds that are being provided to companies who provide and mine fossil fuels. Then give those funds back to the people, as well as the places providing reusable and renewable energy that we can efficiently use to sustain ourselves. If you haven't already noticed, the planet is dying. It's hailing in May, forest fires get bigger every single year, ocean levels are rising and many islanders are about to become climate change refugees if they have not become them already. Please sign this petition to make the people in power such as the governor of Oregon, Kate Brown, use her power to force the PERS retirement system to divest from funds that support fossil fuel companies and fossil fuels like oil, coal and gas via ship imports, train imports, etc... If we don't make changes now, I guarantee it is going to be too late to change. Within a matter of years there will be no turning back, and our earth will face its final tipping point. This isn't just about polar bears dying or glaciers melting. It's about so much more than that, and just changing your personal life to save energy is nice, but in the long run it can no longer do anything for the rest of the earth. We can only make effective change if everyone makes change as a collective community. Only 3.4% of annual greenhouse gas emissions are consumed by waste disposal and treatment, while 21.3% is consumed by power stations. 
STOP FOSSIL FUEL EMISSIONS AND SUPPORT THE PERS DIVESTMENT IN FOSSIL FUELS PLAN. The people working on this plan are working towards this very goal. To stop funds to fossil fuel companies and redistribute the money for better causes. Please support them and save our earth.
