Demand anti-discrimination policy from the United Way of Greater Lafayette

Purdue University has a clear non-discrimination policy, and invests significant university resources in fundraising for The United Way of Greater Lafayette. UWGL should develop anti-discrimination policies consistent with Purdue's ideals.   The United Way donations that originate from Purdue and are collected and often disbursed as official payroll deductions should go to organizations that help people in our community without discriminating on the basis of race, ethnicity, age, gender, gender identity, sexual preference, marital status, or disability!

Please insist that the United Way of Greater Lafayette articulate and implement a non-discrimination policy that is consistent with Purdue's ideals. Purdue has a clear non-discrimination policy statement, and invests significant university resources in the yearly fundraising campaign. Every year, Purdue faculty and staff are urged to give generously to the United Way. Donations that originate from Purdue are often collected and disbursed as official payroll deductions. All groups that receive local United Way grants should be required to demonstrate that they do not discriminate. Our donations should go to organizations that help people in our community without discriminating on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual preference, age, marital status, or disability!
