Why this petition matters

Started by Tarik Jackson
  • From 1993 until April 29 2009, in Georgia, you could receive a death or a life without parole sentence (ONLY) for murder! (Ga. L. 1993 p. 1654) see Ingram vs. state, (1996), so why did I receive life without the possibility of parole for a Armed Robbery, which their was no violence included and after 22years of incarceration, the appeals courts still won't correct this miscarriage of justice. I need answers and I definitely need help. my name is Tarik Jackson #1139417 I was convicted at trial in Douglasville Georgia back in 2002 for armed robbery, under the recidivism statute due to my out of state juvenile record. This is my 1st conviction as an adult and in Georgia, I am not a heinous criminal and I do deserve another chance. I may have made some bad decisions in my life but not bad enough to be treated like this... Life without parole is basically a death sentence, this miscarriage of justice needs to be rectified.. my 2 co-defendants only received 90days boot camp and 5 years probation
