Gretna High School punishes slurs like the f-slur and the n-word just like they would if you were to make fun of physical appearance. This is confirmed information found in the handbook. Slurs that target a specific group is not just a “cuss word”. Saying those things should stop being taken lightly (like they currently are taken). I already talked to administration about changing that rule. I was told they don’t have any power to do anything.. so here I am, as a student doing something. Sign this petition to make the punishment for saying the n-word more severe. No other “cuss words” have a past like the n- word does. They are not the same.  Our motto #BeKind applies but not to everyone. Make a change even if it doesn’t specifically affect you.
