Right World started this petition to Publix Super Markets

Only 1% of plastic grocery bags are recycled. The others, usually only used for 12 minutes, go into a landfill and never biodegrade.  We are asking Publix to make the switch to paper bags. People will still bring their reusable bags, but if they forget them, they will not have to settle for plastic. We believe Publix should make reusable/paper bags their go-to because it would have a great impact on the environment.  We noticed on vacation that the Publix in Hilton Head, SC, has already eliminated plastic bags and made a positive impact on their local community. They recognized the environmental impact on the oceans nearby.  Many of Publix's competitors have already eliminated plastic bags. If you'd like to see Publix make the switch to paper bags, please sign this petition. "The biggest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it."  Let's all do our part and reduce our reliance on single-use plastics. Thank you! -Cole MacKinnon and Right World
