Currently, the IABA are sitting on the ballots from the 2021 National Elections. There is no lawful impediment preventing them from opening the ballots - which were all cast in a fair and transparent election.

According to a previous communication from the IABA Ltd. the ballots could not be opened due to a dispute before Sport Dispute Solutions Ireland. SDSI is a not-for-profit dispute resolution service for all Irish Sport. According to the rules of the SDSI which all parties must accept, the SDSI decision is final and therefore no further appeals in relation to this can be made. The current dispute before the SDSI is in relation to an attempt by the IABA Ltd. to enforce a decision made by its Central Council et al, regarding the revocation of memberships from a large number of members across the country. Following representations by all the concerned parties and the SDSI's own deliberations, we believe that the SDSI will conclude that the IABA Ltd. acted outside of it's own rules and therefore the IABA's decision regarding the memberships will be reversed. 

Therefore, once the SDSI process concludes and a decision is reached, then this decision should be published and there will be no further reason for the IABA to not open the ballots from the 2021 National Elections - which at this stage now took place more than 6 months ago! Not to do this, will continue to cause untold and substantive damage to our sport and not least in terms of participation, membership and reputation.

Under NO circumstances do the current incumbents have any mandate to influence and/or make any further decisions concerning or affecting Irish boxers and their boxing clubs. We are therefore calling on ALL members to demand - as is their democratic right - that the current usurpers do the right thing: Publish the SDSI results and open the 2021 national ballots as soon as possible. We ALL have a sincere opportunity, and more importantly a serious responsibility, to come together and work for the betterment of Irish Boxing. We must learn from the mistakes that have been made; and, dare we say it, give the benefit of doubt to all members concerned that we all really do have the best interests of Irish Boxing at heart. Then we must draw a line under this unfortunate series of events and move on - regardless of the results. If you agree and care about our sport, please sign this petition.
