Water rate base is $88, plus whatever is used in water.  These rates are triple what our neighboring cities rates are, creating an undo burden on a community of elderly and disabled individuals.

Many people within the community are without running water do to such exorbitant costs, as a large percentage of our population are on fixed incomes.

These rates were set in 2014 and have not been reviewed since, leaving the community with little to no recourse.

We are asking the public utilities commission to step in and review these rates as our city council has done nothing to address the problem, leaving many disabled and elderly without water.

We are recommending a review and reduction of the base rate to its pre 2014 amount, with provisions made for low income individuals so that all citizens may have access to water. The Anton city council and the public utilities commission have the power to implement such change.

We believe these steps are necessary to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all residents of Anton.
