Hundreds possibly thousands of families and vulnerable children  with additional needs have been seriously let down by the Education Authority(EA) in Northern Ireland, particularly by the Children and Young Peoples service (CYPS)

Children are being denied Psychology assessments, statements far exceed their legal timeframes for production by years, there is no early intervention because of this. Children are not getting services necessary for their development. When schools do not adhere to statements, for whatever reason, the process of complaint to governors and the ombudsman is lengthy and children are struggling often to the detriment of their mental health. Parents who remove them from school are chased by ewo and social services for acting to protect their children. 

Psychology hours are not meeting demand. All children with a need should be assessed. 

We need people held accountable for these failures. 

Teachers need training, they need support services readily available, they need resources.

Parents need a process that works in a timely, stress free manner with a professional available to support them through this process.

I am calling for a full independent review of, at least the Childrens and young peoples services and involvement of the National audit office into EA practice.

Please support this cause. The harm being done to our children can not be allowed to continue under the hands of the very people employed by our Government to protect them.
