Install Bike Racks On Train Replacement Buses
This petition had 85 supporters
During 2016-17 the Bus Association Victoria conducted a limited trial of bike racks installed on the front of buses. The Bikes On Buses Trial Report recommends installing bike racks on many more buses in coming years across the state: http://www.busvic.asn.au/images/uploads/links/Bikes_on_Buses_Trial_Report_Final_June_2017.pdf
We the undersigned support this recommendation and furthermore request that priority be given to installing bike racks on train replacement buses. During a protracted period of major works on metropolitan train lines, it is important for train replacement buses to replicate the functionality of trains as much as possible, and this should include accommodating cyclists.
Bike racks on buses would encourage sustainable travel decisions, improve accessibility for commuters, and minimize complaints fielded by PTV staff during station closures.
