NYC PSAL LAX Varisty Girls New Helmet Rule

A new rule by the PSAL has been made for girls high school lacrosse players to wear helmets to protect our head. However, it is doing the complete opposite. Many girls have complained that these helmets are not doing their job because they are hurting and squeezing our heads. I can say from my personal experience that the helmet is too tight on my head and it ends up making me dizzy. During practice, almost all the girls have complained about the pain they have felt while wearing these helmets. These helmets impact us female lacrosse player because this is not how the sport is suppose to be played. We know that we put ourselves at risk to get hurt when playing this sport, but it's similar to every other sport. We do not care about the injuries we could get because us athletes know what we are getting ourselves into. As athletes, we have been playing these games and competing against other high school teams. These helmets are way too distracting and they get in the way of everything. It prevents us from being able to concentrate because it causes some of us to become lightheaded. I would also like to say that the helmets are not even build properly. They are breaking off and they aren't even strong enough to protect our heads from a lacrosse ball.
These helmets are very expensive, they are $100 per helmet. According to PSAL, they said how they will provide us with enough helmets for all high school girls lacrosse team. Regular goggles are more affordable because not everybody is going to be able to afford a helmet that does not even serve its purpose. So please, help us get the enforced rule of helmets to be removed.
