Local heating and air conditioning company fired an employee, who was active Mississppi Army National Guard, for missing too many days due to mandatory military training. This Employer knew in advance the training days that were mandated, that the dates were subject to change, and where the training was to take place. During this employees tenure, he was injured in the line of duty, still returned to work and was injured again while at his job. The employer was well aware of medical follow up appointments in advance. But recently, the employer terminated the employee due to excessive absence. The employee missed 42 days the first year, 38 of which were drills. The second year was 45 days, again 38 for drill, a two week vacation which is when he married. Now unemployed, newly married, a baby on the way, and now his insurance cancelled. This is not the way to treat our men and women in the Armed Forces. Help support our soldiers and get enough support to stop employers for using this to terminate workers. Please sign and show your support for our troops back home trying to make a living for their families.
