Proposed rezoning of land on the corner of Avoca Drive and Davistown Road (Yattalunga/Green Point) from 7(C2) and 7(A)(Conservation and Scenic Protection) TO B2 (Local Centre) and E2.  Application made by ADW Johnson on behalf of Woolworths.

The petitioners request that the abovementioned land retain its current zoning for the following reasons:

  1. Environmental Sensitivity
  2. Designated Broad Flood Plain
  3. Inconsistent with Council Planning Proposal
  4. Economic Impact - GCC Executive Assessment Section C9...
    "Socially, the creation of a new centre may affect the mix and fabric of existing centres and diminish focal points of community activity.  Changes to character, amenity and scenic quality that would result from changing the non-urban zone of the land may affect quality of life perceptions."
