Teachers in Ontario are effectively using strikes and demands to force the provincial government to undo budget cuts and increase their annual income. Their need is definitely warranted and are worth consideration, however, their efforts are a prime example of how much they prove incompetent in researching community resources to support the classrooms in which they serve. I believe that the children suffer most, and they are forced into supporting a cause that benefits the loss of actual classroom time that is crucial to their learning experience. I believe that the parents of these children are also forced to support these issues even though the cost of paying for additional child care has by far superseded the precedence of the teachers' clause.

With an eye for resolution, the wisest solution would be to introduce Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE) into the classrooms up to the age of 13 years old (grade 8). This would be the best solution as the teachers would have first hand support, and the children would then benefit from having a support system who has invested in a career of study in child development and community engagement to support the direct need of the child's developmental challenge.

Lastly, RECE's are an unspoken asset to the community. Being that they are the first known supports to children in child care settings and have made incredible use of the community's outreach programs. They have utilized their efforts in developing individual relationships with early intervention centres and have done so without having a pay check to support their efforts.

It's time to introduce RECE's into all classrooms nationwide.
