Ryan Morris started this petition to Provincial and Federal Governments of Canada and

Many laws or acts that are legislated are written in such wording that the average person cannot understand it. With many of these being laws, processes and policies, it would be in the best interest of every Canadian that they understand these laws or Acts.

Many Canadians who live under the poverty line and cannot access lawyers. Some areas of practice are not covered under the legal aid system.

Considering these are laws, and we are supposed to respect them and follow them, it might be a very beneficial idea to have them written in a manner that every individual in Canada can understand.

It's a system designed for lawyers by lawyers. This is why self-representation fails in many situations.

There are a lot of changes that need to be made to our system and I believe this to be one of them. in order for us to be protected under the Canadian Charter of Rights and freedoms, we should be able to understand what our rights are and how to protect them. Due process seems to be followed in ways that we do not understand.

Any sort of policy from a government party should also be very transparent. until this happens we are going to continue to have our rights trampled upon. This needs to change.
