Citizens do NOT approve a town home development west of CC 215 & north of Centennial Pkwy.

CASE Numbers:  SDR-74651 and TMP-74652 [PRJ-74541]

Hundreds of people have voiced their concern that the proposed project would completely upset this community on many levels.

1.       This area is close to several Providence Master Plan Communities near Shaumber and W. Centennial Pkwy, as well those East of CC 215 near Centennial High School, which is already congested due to school traffic, etc. The townhome project would add more congestion and anticipated traffic issues.

313 notifications were mailed out asking for public opinion and prior to the Jan. 22, City Hall Meeting there were 225 responses, with only 2 supporting.  Still the City Planning Commission ‘Staff’ approved the project without regard to the citizens who opposed and their concerns.

223 citizens voiced many different concerns, such as:  safety, property investment damage, traffic congestion, location of development, etc.

These concerns are all on public record and were submitted to the City Planning Commission within the required protest time frame.

a.       To elaborate, home owners are concerned how home values could plummet due to higher density development closely adjacent to their single family detached homes and...

(1)    One issue is 30 townhomes, just 35 feet away from many in the neighboring community, will have a second floor balcony looking DIRECTLY into their back yards.  Most consider this an unacceptable invasion of privacy.

(2)    In addition, the builder plans to build UP the ground area before building, as indicated on the TMP-74652 elevation plan date 1/07/2019.  This would significantly impose upon the existing neighbor’s privacy because vehicle elevation would allow people to easily see into a number of backyards.   Many of these neighbors have children playing in their backyards and are concerned for their safety.  Others have pools, family gatherings, etc. and enjoy the privacy of their backyard without having dozens of people looking in.  We anticipate the the townhomes would add approx. 60+ cars to the area and 100 – 150 people.

Signing this petition affirms our argument that this is not the place for this type of development!
