Provide remote option for Pleasanton students and keep our students safe
The latest wave of COVID-19 is spreading in the United States, especially California. Omicron variant has spread like wildfire. California reported 110K cases and Alameda county reported over 3700 cases as of Jan 7, 2022. Prior week, there were 52K cases reported in California. This means that there is a 2x increase in number of cases in just 1 week.
Many school districts have either delayed opening or gone virtual. This includes WCCUSD, Milpitas and Hayward. UC Berkeley is virtual till 1/31 along with other colleges.

Student's perspective on how risky it is currently to go in-person - "Situation is beyond control", the student said.
Let us not wait for PUSD students, faculty and staff to go through the same adversities and then close the schools; let's get in front of this and prevent long term closures.
The ask is simple:
- Having option to join live classes virtually for all grade levels
- Kids who feel comfortable can still go to school .
- Keeping same home school.
