In light of the government's decision for a third nationwide lockdown, Kingston University have avoided and dismissed the needs of their school of art students. With the closure of the art school's facilities, Kingston School of Art (KSA) students are left with the expectation to work with insufficient resources whilst paying full tuition fees.

The only space we have been granted to work in is an academic library (Town House/Kingston Hill). The art school's library, Knights Park, provides KSA students with the space and resources necessary for our studies. Without it our work and ideas cannot achieve the specifications which our courses demand.

Many students rely on the discounted prices of the art shop for supplies and materials. Our degrees are extremely expensive as they are, so this is adds further financial strain on students this year as we will now have to look elsewhere for materials. The art shop also provides physical access to view and browse products in order to select those appropriate for a project. Without this, we are left to browse only online throughout this lockdown. As any creative practitioner will know, this is an extremely unreliable and impractical way of selecting materials.

We demand that both the Knights Park library and art shop are reopened for ALL KSA STUDENTS.
