ECE's and childcare workers are currently working in unsafe conditions. Educators do not have access to N95 masks, HEPA filters, or RATs & PCR tests. Children under 5 are not vaccinated and are too young to be wearing masks. 

ECE students at Algonquin College are currently being sent into these conditions as a requirement of graduating from their program. 

This petition urges Algonquin College to offer a remote delivery option for Placement l, Placement ll, and Placement lll. Doing this will immediately ensure the safety of their Early Childhood Education students.

While the placements are delivered remotely, the college should work towards ensuring that: 

-All ECE students are boosted (3 covid vaccines) before entering in-person placements.

-The college provides N95 masks & proper PPE required during placement.

-Students may be able to complete their placement at their current work to mitigate the risk associated with traveling from center to center.
