Why this petition matters

Started by Molly Green

As a parent of a beautiful two year old with a disability, I am pleading for safer shopping alternatives for disabled kids. My daughter, like many others, cannot sit up independently and so the only alternative is the infant capsule, which is far too small and completely unsafe.

This is why I am asking Woolworths and Coles to provide safe, inclusive shopping trolleys for children with disabilities across the country.

In 2015, Coles and Woolies announced the rollout of specialised disability trollies. In regional Victoria, however, they are nowhere to be seen.

All regional towns should provide at least one disability trolly for families that require them. There are several available in select stores and it’s time for all families to have equal access.

Parents living in regional areas shouldn’t be made to click and collect as their only option, and solo parenting shopping isn’t always possible for those of us with little support.

All Australians deserve safe access to supermarkets regardless of their abilities!

Please take two minutes to show your support by signing the petition.

♥️ Bonus points for those that share!

Kindly, Molly
